Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa (Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture), located at the entrance to Yambaru , a region with rich subtropical forests and blue seas in the northern part of Okinawa's main island, has a concept of "LOVE OKINAWA DISCOVER YAMBARU and connect with the forest". Starting Friday, December 13, 2024, the hotel will be serving Ryukyu Hot Pot, made with plenty of ingredients from Yambaru, prepared by a Chinese chef who is a certified herbalist, based on the herbal medicine principle of "food is medicine."
"Ryukyu Hot Pot" uses plenty of ingredients from Yambaru for the soup and ingredients. We offer two types of soup: "Mala-tan", which uses several Yambaru spices such as morning chili peppers and autumn turmeric to enjoy the aroma, and Toripaitan, which is made by extracting the umami of chicken over high heat. It expresses yin and yang, and you can enjoy a rich flavor. Ingredients to enjoy with the soup include Yambaru Island Pork and Local Chicken, Okinawa Prefecture Seika, and island vegetables purchased directly from Yambaru farmers. To finish off the soup that is full of umami and broth, we offer three types of Okinawa soba noodles, regular noodles, mugwort noodles, and mozuku seaweed noodles, for you to compare. You can enjoy the aroma of the noodles and the Ryukyu Hot Pot to the very end.
