[Oriental Hotel Hiroshima] Collaborates with Yasuda Women's University, Department of International Tourism Business to jointly plan "LeaLea Hawaiian Lunch & Dessert Buffet"

We have jointly planned an initiative aimed at "intercultural exchange through food" with Junichi Hatai's seminar in the Department of International Tourism Business, Faculty of Contemporary Business, Yasuda Women's University (6-13-1 Ando, Asaminami-ku, Hiroshima City) for the first time. The "LeaLea Hawaiian Lunch & Dessert Buffet," which utilizes the knowledge gained from the seminar students' five-month study abroad experience in Hawaii, will be served for a limited time from Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the 1st floor restaurant and bar "New York Cafe."

This project was launched as part of Oriental Hotels & Resorts' "Co-Creation Strategy," which involves working together with the local community to create valuable experiential products. Nine students began their activities by tasting existing lunch menu items to deepen their understanding of the products. The project placed great importance on students raising issues from their own perspective, and involved the entire process from setting the product theme to sales planning, menu creation, and sales promotion, providing an opportunity to learn about restaurant management in a practical manner.
The restaurant will also focus on ingredients produced in Hiroshima Prefecture, and will deepen its understanding of food distribution through fieldwork with producers (scheduled for November). By proactively incorporating products from Hiroshima Prefecture into its menus, the restaurant also aims to promote the appeal of local food and build ties with producers.

Through this project, the students were given the opportunity to learn practical management skills, and at the same time, the hotel was able to take on new initiatives that incorporate the perspectives of younger generations. The hotel aims to promote use of the hotel among the students' generation, increase awareness of Hiroshima products, and strengthen and develop ties with the local community.
The Hawaiian word "Lea Lea" means "joy and happiness" in the title of this event, and we will be serving visually vibrant Hawaiian food. Please enjoy a special, slow and relaxing time, as if you were spending the Christmas season at a tropical resort.
